Сүүлийн үед хачигт хазуулах, хачигт халдвараар өвчлөх тохиолдол нэмэгдэж байна. Орхон аймгийн хэмжээнд 2017 оны эхний 5 сарын байдлаар хачигт халдварын сэжигтэй тохиолдол 21 бүртгэгдэж хачигт 3 энцефалит, 1 хачигт борреллиоз лабораториор батлагдсан бөгөөд цаашид хачигт халдварын тохиолдол өсөх хандлагатай байна. Тиймээс иргэд хачгийн идэвхжилийн үед хөдөө орон нутаг, ойд зорчихгүй байх, хачигт халдварын голомттой газруудаар явах шаардлагатай бол битүү тод өнгийн хувцас өмсөх, 2 цаг тутамд өөрийн биедээ хачиг орсон эсэхийг шалгах, хачигт хазуулсан тохиолдолд яаралтай эмнэлэгт хандах шаардлагатайг анхааруулж байна.

Хачигт халдвар нь хүнд хачгаар дамжин халдварладаг байгалийн голомтот хурц халдварт өвчин бөгөөд хачгаар дамжин халдварладаг 30 гаруй халдвар байдгаас манай оронд хачигт энцефалит, хачигт риккетсиоз, хачигт боррелиоз өвчнүүдийг 2005 оноос албан ёсоор бүртгэж эхэлсэн. Өнгөрөгч онд улсын хэмжээнд хачигт боррелиозийн 61тохиолдол, хачигт риккетсиогийн 59 тохиолдол, хачигт энцефалитийн 12 тохиолдол бүртгэгдсэнээс 2 хүн нас барсан байна. Харин аймгийн хэмжээнд өнгөрөгч онд хачигт энцефалитийн 2 тохиолдол, хачигт риккетсиоз болон хачигт боррелиозийн тохиолдол тус тус нэг бүртгэгдсэн.
Хачигт риккетсиоз өвчнийг дамжуулагч хачиг нь ихэнх нутгаар тархсан байдаг бол хачигт энцефалит болон хачигт боррелиоз өвчнийг дамжуулагч хачиг нь ой мод ихтэй бүс нутагт тархсан байдаг. Хачигт энцефалит өвчний үед өндөр халуурах, толгой хүчтэй өвдөх, бөөлжих, үе мөч, ууц нуруугаар шархирч өвдөх, уналт таталт, саа саажилт зэрэг шинж илэрдэг.
